Festival 2017 - Cancelled

Please look out for further notifications!

More competitors needed for future festivals to ensure continued success.

The Festival Committee would like to urge performers (musicians, singers and ‘actors’)

to enter the festival, and for parents and teachers to encourage young performers.

Chesterfield Competitive Festival of Music and Drama is organised by a

hard-working team of volunteers and is affiliated to the

‘British & International Federation of Festivals’.

Various fund-raising events are held to help with the costs of the Festival:

the hire of venues, adjudicators and accompanists fees;

the printing of the syllabus, programmes and certificates,

and the purchase of medals.

If you are interested in supporting or sponsoring the festival

Chesterfield Competitive Festival of Music and Drama

(aka The Chesterfield Music Festival)

Why the name change?

To emphasize the competitive nature of the festival as well as to promote the speech and drama classes.

Thank you for your support at the Chesterfield Library Lunchtime Concert on

April 1st. This was a

Young Performers Concert

and a tribute to the late Festival Chair Julia Tew.

Many thanks to the young performers who gave up their time to give us a wonderful concert. Also thanks to Andrew Marples and Katie Strudwick for their fine work in accompanying the performers.

Thanks again to Andrew for donating the money raised at this concert to the festival. This is very much appreciated.
